It consists of a series of five adventures relating to the ship Unity during the Roku era, together with a guide book and a condensed rule booklet. Depending on the edition of Voyage of the Unity, the set also includes various supplementary materials such as maps, scrolls, and handouts. The Kickstarter campaign for the set launched on May 20, 2025, with an estimated delivery date of September 2026.[1]

Overview

Long before Prince Zuko set sail in pursuit of the Avatar, the shipping magnate Tiqriganianniq [sic.] dreamed an incredible dream—a Grand Tour of the most technologically advanced ship of the Roku Era, the Unity, that would expand the Southern Water Tribe's reach, forge connections between peoples, and spread goodwill throughout the Four Nations. Tiq (as she's called by her friends, enemies, lovers, and employees) has spent years securing the funding for the voyage, and the ship is finally ready to set sail on a multiyear journey that will be remembered forever.

Unfortunately, the scientists, artists, and diplomats who have agreed to join the crew of the Unity—drawn from across the Four Nations—bring their own prejudice, fears, and ambitions, and the governments of the world are highly suspicious of this "charitable voyage" that must surely have an ulterior motive! With threats all around (and even within!), there's an incredible need for those who are willing to fight for what's right, ward off dangers, tame the rivalries and conflicts within the crew, and help the Unity make history.

Welcome aboard, heroes. Are you ready for the greatest voyage of your lives?[1]

Content

Setting information

The set will focus on the famous world-spanning journey of the Unity during the 50s BG. The players will take the role of adventurers hired by Taqukaq, Roku's companion and waterbending teacher, to protect the vessel and its diverse crew from various threats and conspiracies.[1]

Characters

The expansion features prominent, recurring characters. These include both Legend NPCs as well as other important passengers:[1]

Adventures

The set will include five adventures which can be played as part of a campaign or independently:[1]

  • Welcome to the Unity: Set before the start of the journey of the Unity, this adventure focuses on the players exploring the ship and several of its crew as well as passengers. The players are supposed to locate stowaway and resolve several conflicts to enable the start of the journey.
  • Temple of Ukoa: Set during a Unity stop at Natsuo Island, this adventure involves the players having to solve a mystery surrounding the repeated destruction of Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom archeological equipment at an ancient shrine, with locals blaming the spirit of a long-dead dragon for the events.
  • Dead Calm: Taking place during a hurricane, the players face a near-mutiny as a group of passengers led by Rume attempt to replace the captain of the Unity even as the ship is threatened with destruction.
  • Wings of Destiny: As the Unity stops at a Fire Nation port during the Festival of Szeto, the players learn of a plan by the local nobility to hunt and kill a local dragon, resulting in their intervention.
  • A Devious Wind: The Unity is attacked by a large pirate force in the waters near Ba Sing Se, while a saboteur works to scuttle the ship and the serpent lies in wait. The players have to solve these simultaneous crises to save the Unity.

Premium edition supplementary material

The set's premium edition will contain various in-universe items such as bending scrolls, in-world handouts, maps, coins, gamemaster screens, and encounter as well as location cards.[1] The scrolls will include: earthbending, waterbending, airbending, firebending, Dancing Dragon (exclusively in the Dragon Edition), sword, and rare bending techniques (bloodbending, lavabending, lightningbending, and flight).[2]

Trivia

  • This is the first set in the Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game series not developed exclusively by Magpie Games, featuring Beadle & Grimm's as a new partner.
