"I know how to make a poison that is colorless and odorless, completely untraceable. It causes a person to pass quietly, as if he'd simply fallen asleep."

Ursa's poison is a mixture created by Ursa for Ozai, who used it to murder his father, Fire Lord Azulon, and take the throne.[1] She made the poison from the same flower species that Azulon had admired in her parents' greenhouse.
History
Ursa's mother, Rina, was a master herbalist and taught her daughter how to concoct this deadly poison prior to Ursa's departure from Hira'a.
When Ursa learned that Ozai intended to take Zuko's life on Azulon's orders, she struck a bargain with her husband: she would provide him with a poison that was completely untraceable, to do with as he wished, and in return, he would spare Zuko's life. Ozai agreed to the deal, but only if Ursa promised to leave the Fire Nation Capital and never return, fearing that she would use the poison on him as well. After making the poison, she handed it to Ozai and left without saying a word to him. Ozai promptly administered the poison to his father, resulting in Azulon's death and Ozai becoming the new Fire Lord.[1]
Design
The poison is a colorless and odorless solution made by heating a combination of herbs. Individuals who ingest the poison die what appears to be a natural death, as it does not elicit any symptoms.[1]
Trivia
- The poison is similar in design to Aqua Tofana, an undetectable poison developed in 17th century Italy and frequently used by women of the time to discreetly dispose of their husbands.
