The underground waterbending fighter was a participant in illegal bending matches in Yu Dao, fighting for prize money. A huge and muscular man, he was an experienced combatant.

History

One night, he took part in a match at an dilapidated building in one of the less respectable parts of Yu Dao. After waiting in line for an opponent, he was pitted against a young earthbender named Sun. The waterbender confidently declared that he would defeat his opponent, and started their duel by bending water from a nearby barrel to strike at his opponent. Although Sun shielded himself from this first strike with an earth wall, the waterbender then switched to a rapid-fire attack with icicles. When Sun responded by bending his earth wall as projectile, the waterbender just sliced it through with water.

The waterbender then turned the water on the ground into ice, causing Sun to slip. Believing to have the upper hand, the waterbender made a triumphant comment. However, Sun then began to lavabend the floor, shocking the waterbender. Confused and frightened, he asked what Sun was doing, as he was no firebender. The waterbender then turned around and fled the ring, while the building became unstable due to the lave melting its steel beams.
