Teki was an anarchist revolutionary and follower of Xai Bau, the founder of the Red Lotus. He unsuccessfully employed militant activism to disrupt the elections of a new council on Jasmine Island during the 100s AG.

History

A native of the small, independent Jasmine Island, Teki was a member of the state's developing anarchist movement after the Hundred Year War.[1] At this point, the locals were trying to organize new elections for a traditional ruling council, with various political factions bitterly feuding and seeking to gain the electorate's support. Amid this growing political crisis, White Lotus anarchist Xai Bau visited the island and secretly forged connections with islanders who were inclined to revolutionary change.[2][3] Teki became an "acolyte" of Xai Bau, firmly committed to the latter's vision of absolute freedom.[1]

In general, Jasmine Island's anarchists were opposed to any kind of ruling council. Unlike less extreme supporters of Xai Bau such as Isonash who sought to disrupt the council by partaking in the elections,[2][3] Teki concluded that he should try to completely prevent any kind of functioning council. Gathering some associates, he started to stage militant actions to disrupt the election process, such as setting off stink bombs during a general assembly of the islanders. One contender for the elections, Qayu, quickly identified Teki as being responsible.[1]

Afterward, the Jasmine Island protectors tried to arrest Teki. When they cornered him, however, he revealed that his allies were prepared to set fire to the already depleted golden jasmine groves along the coast.[1] This would have not just disrupted the island's economy and culture,[4] but also echoed the horrors of "The Devastation", a traumatic event of the Hundred Year War.[1]

Ultimately, Teki's efforts could not stop the election of a new council for Jasmine Island.[5]
