Taiki was a waterbender from the Northern Water Tribe who hoped to make a name for himself, sometimes recklessly wanting to seek glory, though struggled since the end of the Hundred Year War.[1]

History

Taiki was a young transgender man who left the Northern Water Tribe, hoping to become a legendary warrior in the struggle against the Fire Nation. However, since the war ended, making a name for himself was difficult. Never one to sit around and do nothing, Taiki was on the search for his next big quest.

Taiki found himself in Boat Bottom in the Fire Nation colonies and formed a group with Lan, Kiku, Yuxuan, and Chesa after they heard about the bounty on a notorious thief named Qian Yu. However, after meeting Qian Yu, the group realized they needed to help her rather than hinder her, as she was actually trying to save a valuable Air Nomad artifact from being sold to the highest bidder by Sparrowkeet Air. The group agreed to escort her from Boat Bottom to Yu Dao, where she could deliver the artifact to Toph Beifong at the Beifong Metalbending Academy, who in turn could give the artifact to Avatar Aang.[2][3]

Personality

Taiki was affable and talkative, and very eager to make a name for himself as a legendary warrior. He was driven to bold acts such as taking down dangerous threats on his own, standing up to people who did not respect him, showing mercy or forgiveness to dangerous people and pulling off dangerous stunts.[2]

Abilities

Taiki was a skilled waterbender, who could form a shield and floating daggers made of ice. During fights, he often worked together with his allies against the same foe.[2]
