Pohu was a technologist from the Southern Water Tribe and its delegate at the Four Nations Summit & Technological Symposium.[2]

History

Pohu was the rival of Taqukaq, a diplomat and waterbending master from the Northern Water Tribe who was famous for being Avatar Roku's waterbending master. While the North and the South were technically united as one polity, Pohu and others within the South had to petition for both Water Tribes to have a delegate at the Four Nations Summit & Technological Symposium. When he came to Hari Bulkan for the summit, Pohu was aware that he was the only chief delegate who had to fight for his position, and felt that he needed to justify his presence by playing devil's advocate in most situations.[1] Pohu brought several other delegates along with him, as well as some Southern Water Tribe warriors.[3] Pohu was housed at Tako Dormitory during his stay in the Fire Nation Capital, and his room contained drafts of various pieces of innovative winter survival gear and ship components, as well as a hidden document, where he speculated about how meteorite metal could be used to improve ships. Pohu also kept a notebook containing extensive information about Taqukaq in the Southern Water Tribe store room.[4][5]

Pohu was excited to find that there were large stores of meteorite ore in Hari Bulkan, as he knew that the material was considered unbreakble once it was forged. This feature was enough to get him very excited at the prospect of working with the metal, especially as it could improve his career. After crates of meteorite ore went missing, Pohu began to be regarded as a potential suspect.[6]

Physical description

Pohu had a jagged scar across the left cheek of his face from a successful experiment to prove his scientific prowess.[1]

Personality

Pohu felt as if he was contributing to discussions by raising every possible flaw in ideas, even if he liked them. He was driven by his desire to seek power, and always wanted to one-up Taqukaq, of whom he was very jealous.[1]

Abilities

Pohu was one of the few nonbenders present in the discussions at the summit, but made up for his lack of bending by his expert knowledge of technology.[1]
