Pang was a member of Zongdu Chaisee's association of errand runners, controlling the flow of information in Jonduri. He was killed by Tael after he absentmindedly threatened the secrecy of the association.

History

Originally from the Earth Kingdom, Pang came to the shang city of Jonduri, and joined Zongdu Chaisee's powerful association that controlled the flow of information. In year 17 of the era of Yangchen, he was assigned as the leader of a group of nine people (including Kavik and Jujinta) who were tasked to retake control of a warehouse that had been locked down by recalcitrant workers. When they came to the warehouse front, Pang raised his foot and kicked open the workers' entrance, snapping the latch. He ducked inside, and the rest of the group followed behind. However, the workers were nowhere to be seen, and Pang deduced that they must have spooked and hid between the crates. Just at that moment, the workers revealed themselves, a group of people five times as large as had been anticipated, and each of them huge.

Pang told the others that they would not be leaving, warning them what the "boss-boss" would think, but the association members tried to get away as soon as they could, and Pang himself was almost immediately taken out by a running shoulder tackle from one of the workers. Although he took a powerful hit, he survived to the end of the fight, where Kavik eventually managed to force a stalemate with his waterbending. Pang began to laugh, and bragged that the workers had no leverage anymore, as the association had been able to retrieve the logbook detailing the warehouse's stores and shipping dates. However, the crew leader refused to concede defeat, and started to set the wooden crates alight with firebending, forcing Kavik to use waterbending to put out the fires and ruining much of the cargo.[1]

When Tael came to the warehouse, Pang sneered at Kavik and nodded as the manager led him out, believing the new guy would catch the blame, as was tradition. However, Tael told him not to look smug, as he was going to account for the damage too, as the loss had occurred under his leadership. Pang was frantic at the prospect of being lumped in with Kavik's punishment, and started to defend himself, mentioning Chaisee by name. In response, Tael stabbed Pang in the chest with a concealed knife, while saying loudly for the benefit of any and all witnesses that he did not know a Chaisee. Pang died shortly after, and Tael commanded his men to wrap him in the wool and wet it down before nailing the crate shut so that it would hide the smell until they could throw the goods out, with two men soon dragging Pang's body away.[2]

Physical appearance

Pang was missing his bottom front teeth, as they had been knocked out in a fight long before his death.[1]
