Minh was an earthbender training to be a nun of the Unbreakable Temple. After leaving Ba Sing Se to visit a rural monastery, she encountered Fire Nation aggression for the first time, subsequently resolving to restore harmony and defend innocents.[1]
History
Minh was raised in the Unbreakable Temple in Ba Sing Se, and was expected to serve as a nun one day. She ventured forth from her home temple to a visit a rural monastery, and arrived to see it assaulted by the Fire Nation. After this experience, Minh learned how to use her earthbending to keep people safe.
Minh became a fierce defender of those in need. She saw new her role as a necessity, considering the state of the world during the Hundred Year War. However, she did want to assume her role as a nun back at her home temple one day, and continued to wear much of the garb she left with.
Minh eventually joined up with a large group of rebels and refugees, fleeing the Fire Nation's General Uyanga. She gave minor help to the group as they traveled all the way to the Western Air Temple. Minh was present when two giant statues fell, blocking a major passageway in the temple. This caused the group to divide over their strategy. Weili, leader of the refugees, wanted to leave the temple, while the rebels' leader, Haoran, was certain that the Fire Nation would catch them if they tried to flee. As relative outsiders, Minh, Rei, Si Nong, Kyung, and Yuka were asked for their help in deciding what to do.[2]
Personality
Minh's worldview was changed after encountering the Fire Nation, as she learned that not everyone is kind. She never wanted to attack others, but came to accept that fighting was sometimes the only way to restore harmony. She was determined to strive for peace until the world found balance once again.[1] Nevertheless, even after learning to use her bending in combat, Minh did not believe in violence.[3]
Abilities
Minh often fought defensively, making use of shields and armor made of stone. If she ever needed to fight offensively, she was able to pummel her opponents with quick blows.[1]
