Macao and Lily were two fans of The Adventures of Nuktuk: Hero of the South who encountered Team Avatar in the Misty Palms Oasis during the latter's search for Aiwei.[1]
History
In 171 AG, Macao caught a glimpse of Bolin outside of a tavern and alerted Lily. Alarmed, Bolin thought that the two were bounty hunters and fled the scene with Mako. Despite their attempts to catch the two, Macao and Lily were unable to find the two brothers and looked elsewhere.
Shortly after, Macao and Lily encountered Team Avatar in the Misty Palms Inn. Before the members of Team Avatar could attack them, Macao clarified that they were not looking to fight the group and were only interested in meeting Bolin. Lily went on to call herself and Macao the "biggest Nuktuk fans" and urged the earthbender to sign a poster for them. She excitedly gave Bolin a handmade Nuktuk doll as well, much to the mover star's amusement.[1]

Trivia
- Macao and Lily were credited as "muscly man" and "intense woman", respectively.
- The Nuktuk doll Lily made for Bolin was based on a Bolin doll made by DeviantArt user "luvliX3" that Bryan Konietzko found on the internet.[2][3]
- A network executive voiced a concern that Macao and Lily could be seen as negative portrayals of Avatar fans upon seeing the final animation, but this was never the intention, although some fan convention stereotypes were included for the sake of humor.[2][3]
