History
As one of his three deadly tests in Omashu, Aang was tasked with retrieving Flopsie, the king's pet. Aang jumped down into a pit occupied by a lop-eared rabbit, believing the creature was his target. However, the real Flopsie appeared behind Aang and scared the lop-eared rabbit away. Aang gave chase, but the small animal easily evaded the airbender before escaping into a hole.[3]
After the invasion of the United Republic of Nations, Jobal took care of a lop-eared rabbit that had been separated from its owner during the evacuation of Republic City. After Meelo found him and convinced him to come to the evacuee camp, the lop-eared rabbit was returned to its owner.[5]
Anatomy
The lop-eared rabbit is a small quadruped covered in white fur with gray spots around its eyes. It is small but has ears longer than the length of its body.
Behavior
The lop-eared rabbit is easily frightened but can move at high speeds and avoid predators with stealth.[3] Thanks to their large ears, they have exceptional hearing, making it difficult for anyone to catch them.[4] They are preyed upon by goat gorillas.[2]
Despite their usually skittish nature, if they are accustomed to human contact, lop-eared rabbits make "great companions".[4]
