- According to the DVD commentary of "Lake Laogai", Sokka's childlike drawings were done by O'Bryan, basing them on his own art style.[2]
- O'Bryan supported Zuko and Katara becoming a couple and pushed for the idea in the writers' room.[3]
- Out of all the elements, John O'Bryan would most want to be an earthbender, especially as he loves Toph's character.[3]
