Biography

Kanagawa was born in Japan, and lived in Canada and the United States as he grew up. An early role included providing the voice of Gihren Zabi in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam.

He completed his undergraduate studies at Middlebury College. Since 1990, he has lived in Vancouver, Canada.

In his career as an actor, he has appeared in numerous high-profile films and television series shot in the Vancouver area, including Smallville, Caprica, Godzilla (2008), The Man in the High Castle, Altered Carbon, iZombie, Legends of Tomorrow, and Kim's Covenience.

Besides acting, he is also a playwright and screenwriter. In 2015, he won the Jessie Richardson Theatre Award for Outstanding Script for his play Indian Arm, an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's Little Eyolf.
