Biographical information

Shang was a member of the CBS Diversity Writer's Mentorship in 2010, a screenwriting program intended to promote race and gender diversity in front of and behind the camera.[2] In 2011 she worked as a researcher on the Fox crime drama The Chicago Code, which was followed by working as part of the production staff on the medical drama Body of Proof in 2013. She was a fellow of the CAPE New Writer's Fellowship in 2014,[3] and in 2015 wrote one episode of the NBC psychological thriller Hannibal. Between 2016 and 2017, Shang worked as a story editor and writer on the seventh season of Hawaii Five-0, and in 2019 wrote two episodes of 13 Reasons Why alongside being a co-producer on the series. In 2022, she was a writer and producer on the sci-fi drama The Man Who Fell to Earth and a co-producer for the first season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
