Personal life

Von Detten was born in San Diego, California. His mother, Susan von Detten (nรฉe Farber), is an American photographer, and his father, Volker von Detten, is an immigrant from Munich, Germany. He has three sisters, Dolly, Britta, and Andrea, and a brother, Timothy. As of 2003, he had a Dalmatian named Miles.

Career

Von Detten landed his first major role in the soap opera Days Of Our Lives, appearing as Nicholas Alamain in twenty-eight episodes from 1992 to 1993. His next role came as the voice of Sid in the original Toy Story in 1995. Between 1999 and 2001, he performed in thirteen episodes of Odd Man Out, nine episodes of Recess, and twenty episodes of So Weird. His next major TV credit was as Chris Savage in Complete Savages for nineteen episodes in 2004 and 2005. He reprised his role as Sid in Toy Story 3 in 2010.[1]
