Several ferries were docked in Full Moon Bay.

During the Hundred Year War, the Earth Kingdom used ferries to secretly transport refugees from a protected hidden port in Full Moon Bay to the safety of Ba Sing Se. The trip took approximately one day.[1][2]

History

Avatar Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph intended to travel to Ba Sing Se by ferry with Ying, Than, and his sister. However, when the latter party's tickets were stolen, Aang decided to lead the group through the Serpent's Pass. Meanwhile, Zuko and Iroh were able to obtain tickets for the ferry by using forged identification documents, where they later met Jet, Smellerbee, and Longshot.[3]

Schematics

These are the ferry's schematics.

The ferries have a simple deck structure with a large hull and a paddle wheel to make the vessel move. The ferries have a captain, crew, passenger quarters, and a kitchen. The captain resides on the upper deck, from where he and his crew control the ship.[1]

Trivia

  • The food on the ferries reserved for the refugees often consisted of rotten produce, expired meat, and moldy bread, whereas the food on the upper deck for the captain and his crew was of pristine condition.[1]
