Earth Empire tanks were large, metal-armored vehicles utilized by the Earth Empire. Their primary role was to assert dominance and power upon the Earth Empire's enemies and defend its people.[1]
History
Earth Empire tanks were the major armored component of Kuvira's Earth Empire army. They were first used during the fall of Zaofu in 174 AG[2][1] and later as part of Kuvira's Republic City force during its invasion.[3]
At one point during Tokuga's insurrection of Republic City, Tokuga and his forces robbed a Republic City police depot of military weapons. There, they stole seized tanks, airships, and mecha suits that were once used during the invasion of Republic City. Tokuga later used the tanks in his attempt to take over the city.[4][5]
During the Gaoling crisis, Commander Guan made use of multiple of these tanks in an effort to reform the Earth Empire, following Kuvira's surrender.[6][7]
Design
The Earth Empire tank is similar in design to the United Forces tank. Both are an evolved model of the Fire Nation's tundra tank, which was used during the Hundred Year War. To present Kuvira's military muscle, the tank was large enough to dwarf the Earth Empire's mecha suits. The tanks' entire body were made of metal and, on either side, were two Earth Empire seals painted on light gray.
Similar to the tundra and United Forces tanks, the Earth Empire tank had a polygonal turret on the top of its hull and fitted with treads instead of wheels. The main offensive capabilities of the tank rested in its doral turret, which had multiple window slits. The sides of the tank's hull also had trapezoidical compartments with three window slits on each side.[1]

- According to Michael Dante DiMartino, the tanks were added to Kuvira's army to show her military muscle when threatening Zaofu.[8]
