Biographical information
Derek has one sister, Arianna, and three brothers: Darion, Dion, and Dante, the latter of whom voiced Zuko in Avatar: The Last Airbender and Iroh in The Legend of Korra. He is married to Emily Cho and has a daughter with her called Ella Jay Basco.
Trivia
- Naked Brown Men was written by Derek and co-directed by himself and his three brothers.
- Derek acted alongside Cliff Curtis in the 1998 film Six Days Seven Nights. Derek played Ricky, a helicopter crewman, and Cliff Curtis played Kip, a pirate captain.
