Da Yin was the Chief Executive Officer of Yin Incorporated and owner of Republic City's elite Upper Ring Club. She was a ruthless businesswoman and was bent on ruling Harmony Park.[1]

History

Da Yin grew up as the child of two starving artists who just managed to eke out a life in the Harmony Park district, the cultural and aesthetic heart of Republic City. Seeing her parents' slow decline over the years taught her that no amount of fans would get anyone what they wanted. Da Yin's childhood dream was to shape Harmony Park district itself.

Da Yin became CEO of construction firm Yin Incorporated, continuing to focus on the Harmony Park district. She used threats, blackmail and bribes to push her company to greater heights. Da Yin's company fulfilling contracts in Harmony Park helped it achieve a considerable amount of success.

She started to push the company to not just actively sponsor and invest in the buildings of Harmony Park, but also its institutions. To ensure these investments paid off, she bought up the debts of Jade, a former opera star and renowned critic. Da Yin had him under her thumb, and could demand a positive review of anything she wanted, ensuring the singers, performances, and experiences she invested in become the most important for the entire upper crust of Republic City.[1]

Da Yin also had full ownership of the Upper Ring Club, which presented itself as the most elite, most prestigious, and most glamorous of establishments in all of Republic City. She regularly schmoozed among the many wealthy and influential guests, trying to make connections that would keep both the club and herself on top.[1][2]

Da Yin became interested in buying the Sunset Social Club, an experimental bar run by two startups from the Fire Nation. In order to fulfil her wish, she pressurized Jade to destroy the club. With Da Yin in control of his future, the old man had no choice to write constant acidic reviews about the club, and his campaign led to the bar eventually being scheduled to close its doors within the month. However, Jade felt terrible about what he was having to write, as he truly thought the club was great.[3]

Personality

Da Yin was capable, canny, and utterly ruthless. She loved Harmony Park, but firmly believed that the only way to maintain its beauty was through financial power. She believed that rules only matter for a businessperson if they get caught, and had no hesitation to use underhanded methods.[1]

Abilities

Da Yin had managed to become a successful businesswoman. She was an expert at not getting caught for any wrongdoings. She used threats, blackmail, and bribes to push Yin Incorporated to greater and greater heights.[1]
