Chesa was an earthbender from a family of bandits, but abandoned that life to seek something better.

History

Chesa grew up in a family of bandits hiding in the rocky mountains outside Yu Dao, a Fire Nation colony in the Earth Kingdom. He did not find anything wrong with his life until he met the owners of the Iron Tavern who seemed to love their children unconditionally and never expected them to steal anything. After this, Chesa decided to go off on his own and see what he could be outside his family.

In Boat Bottom, he met a group of new friends, Taiki, Lan, Kiku, and Yuxuan, who helped him to try to right his criminal past. He was attracted to the cold, hard cash when he heard about the high bounty on Qian Yu, a notorious thief in the area. However, after the group met Qian Yu, they learned that she had actually taken a valuable Air Nomad artifact from Sparrowkeet Air after she learned that they wanted to sell it to the highest bidder. The group decided to help her rather than hinder her, and agreed to escort her to Yu Dao so that she could deliver the artifact to Toph Beifong at the Beifong Metalbending Academy, who could in turn see it given to Avatar Aang.

Personality

Chesa often danced the line of what was right and wrong, as well as legal and illegal. He was joking as well as sly.

Abilities

Chesa was a capable earthbender and often shifted earth subtly to create hills and holes. He could often attack an enemy where they were weakest or most off-balance.
