Ceba was a student at Republic City University and an intern at Fire Lord Zuko Library.[1]
History
Ceba had an eidetic memory and could remember every word of texts the first time she read them. She managed to secure a prestigious internship at Fire Lord Zuko Library while still studying at Republic City University. Ceba tended to many different sections of the library, including the rare texts wing.
During General Kuvira's attack on Republic City, part of the library collapsed, damaging and destroying some rare texts. Ceba's ability to precisely recall her memories thus became crucially important. She felt she had to help out after a survey was conducted to assess the scale of the loss of knowledge. Ceba could recall some of the lost texts verbatim, and the library staff could transcribe what she recalled. While some faculty members had their doubts, many were thrilled, as Ceba's memory allowed them to restore the voices of the past that would otherwise be lost.
However, word eventually reached others about Ceba and the lost texts. Opportunistic and predatory figures from across the city saw her as the key to an array of priceless, ancient, and lost texts. Members of the Creeping Crystal Triad, as well as mercenaries hired by Dyo Motors CEO Samnang, began to close in on the student with plans to abduct her. These groups knew that if she was held hostage, the lost texts could be ransomed to either the university or interested relic collectors.[1]
