Flying Bark Productions Pty Ltd is an Australian animation studio. The studio acts as a full-service production facility across feature films, television, and a diverse range of digital content. The studio was established by Yoram and Sandra Gross in 1962 as Yoram Gross Film Studios. In October 2022, Flying Bark announced their partnership with Avatar Studios on the upcoming Avatar feature film The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, which would couple 2D animation with substantial CG elements.[1][2]
Studio
Located in Sydney and LA, Flying Bark Productions operates as a full-service production facility with award-winning original independent feature films and series as well as providing animation services for global clients. With more than 350 artists, the studio is one of the largest in Australia.[1]
In recent years the studio has expanded its original programming to provide production for both traditional hand-drawn 2D animation and CGI animation. Client projects include animation for Nickelodeon and Disney+. The company has invested significantly in the development of its original slate with creators from across the globe, and has adopted a no-borders approach to its business.
Flying Bark is owned by Studio 100, a vertically integrated entertainment company based in Europe with partner studios in Belgium, Munich, and New York as well as development and production in Los Angeles and Paris.[3][4]
