Biographical information
Volpe majored in illustration at the Art Institute of Seattle in 1994 and later graduated with a B.A. in animation from the School of Visual Arts in 1997. He began his career at Humongous Entertainment, working as an animator on the children's computer games Pajama Sam and Putt-Putt Enters the Race. He moved to Fox in 1998 to work on King of the Hill, where he was the layout artist and assistant director, before working on Avatar: The Last Airbender in 2004.[1] In 2008, he moved to Lucasfilm Animation to work as an episodic director on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, collaborating directly with famed filmmaker George Lucas.
Three years later, he co-produced and directed the CG-animated television show Green Lantern: The Animated Series, working on the show until its cancellation. In 2014, he worked as producer and director on JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time at Warner Bros. and also worked temporarily at video game developer Riot Games. He later moved to Disney XD to work on their new show Star vs. the Forces of Evil but left the show upon receiving an offer to work as a director at entertainment studio Wonderstorm, reuniting with its co-founder and former Avatar writer Aaron Ehasz.
On February 14, 2015, Volpe launched the webcomic God of Love on his Tumblr account.[2]
