Rameh was the second-in-command of a group of Earth Kingdom rebels during the Hundred Year War known as the Armadillo Bears.[1]
History
Rameh grew up as Ben Ta's best friend in a small Earth Kingdom village. Shortly after the Fire Nation invaded their home under General Onomu, Ben Ta's mother passed away, and Ben Ta blamed this on the Fire Nation seizing food and medical supplies for the war effort.[1]
When Ben Ta became leader of the rebel group known as the Armadillo Bears, Rameh became her second-in-command. While Ben Ta was driven by revenge, Rameh served as the voice of reason. He loved his leader, and while he was not sure if Ben Ta's mother's death could have been prevented, he still saw most Fire Nation citizens as greedy oppressors who needed to be stopped.[1] Ben Ta had a soft spot for him and she mostly listened to Rameh without question.[2]
After Ben Ta got word that General Onomu was in the area, Rameh followed her on her mission to track down and kill Onomu, while a team employed by the Earth Kingdom government was planning escorting Onomu to Ba Sing Se after the Fire Nation general planned to defect with war plans.[1] Rameh and a group of Armadillo Bears rode into an eastern Earth Kingdom town looking for a "Fire Nation defector" who they heard was there, spreading across town in search of Onomu.[3]
Personality
Rameh was warm, quiet, and unassuming, the complete opposite of his best friend Ben Ta. He spoke softly, and usually didn't resume a speech after being interrupted or spoken over. He had a calm strength, and his observant kindness meant that he was an important person to the Armadillo Bears. Although he seemed like a person who eschewed violence, he found the Fire Nation deplorable and was willing to fight for his home.[2]
Abilities
Rameh was an earthbender, but also specialized in weapons. When he got into a fight, he usually raised a defensive shield of stone.[2]
