History

Sparrowkeet Station was built around a refueling post for Sparrowkeet Air in the Fire Nation's colonies on the Earth Kingdom continent. It was inhabited by a blended group of citizens drawn to the area's prosperity, and was one of the few locations that did quite well for itself during the war.

The Fire Nation began to withdraw from the Earth Kingdom with the beginning of the Harmony Restoration Movement, and also no longer needed war balloons during peacetime. This led to the number of dirigibles dropping significantly, and the town and station started to become defunct. Most inhabitants left to find fortune elsewhere, and those who stayed struggled to keep their community afloat. More enterprising inhabitants began to tap the former Sparrowkeet station for fuel, selling canisters to anyone who passed by with enough money to pay.

Sparrowkeet Station was almost considered ghost town and began to look rather rickety, though it came alive whenever a big spender rolled into town. Most who decided to stay happily remembered the days of affluence in the town and clung to the idea that Sparrowkeet Station could once more regain its glory. Sparrowkeet Air kept the eye on Sparrowkeet Station and the general area between Boat Bottom and Yu Dao after Qian Yu took an Air Nomad artifact that was found at a Sparrowkeet Air factory.[1]

Trivia

  • While Sparrowkeet Station was located in territory that would later be part of the United Republic of Nations, it is unknown whether Sparrowkeet Air and the town remained active up until the United Republic was formed.
