Mamnguqsualuq was a leader of a small Southern Water Tribe settlement that was hidden away in a complex cave system during the Hundred Year War.[1]
History
Mamnguqsualuq's original home was one of the first to suffer at the hands of the Fire Nation's raiders. As a young scout, she had found a complex cave system that went deep into the ice but was still warm enough to live in with many big fish swimming in pools. Mamnguqsualuq moved her entire settlement into the caves, where they lived ever since.
Since no other tribe in the South knew of the caves, they remained undisturbed, protected by the rumors of dark spirits in that area of the South Pole; in actuality, the dark spirits had been members of the settlement spotted moving from far off in the snow drift. In the rare cases that someone did find the caves, Mamnguqsualuq was cautious about providing them with the necessary shelter, only doing so if she believed they were trustworthy.[1]
At one point, the settlement was hit with another crisis when a Fire Navy ship prowled Southern Water Tribe water and sent scouts to look for nearby settlements. In additional, one of the local kids had gone missing in a snowstorm. Encountered a group of adventurers traveling through this area of the South Pole, Mamnguqsualuq decided to ask them for help to deal with the ship while she and the other villagers went out to look for the child.[2]
Abilities
Mamnguqsualuq was one of the most skilled scouts and trackers left in the Southern Water Tribe, and she had an unparalleled knowledge of the land.[1]
