Xin was a community organizer and de facto representative in Republic City's Dragon Flats borough. Being known for their generally helpful nature and well-connected position, Xin acted as a "sage" in the borough. To anyone in need, they provided advice and aid while trying to protect the locals from all kinds of threats.[1][2]

History

Xin's ancestors stemmed from Hira'a,[1] a backwater settlement in the Fire Nation.[3] Their family migrated to Republic City to seek a better life, though their economic situation did not much improve up until the time of Xin's birth. Like their relatives, Xin tried their luck at a number of jobs until eventually becoming a streetcar operator. They worked in this profession for decades, eventually retiring during the Raiko presidency.[1]

In retirement, Xin rose to become the "sage" and main community organizer of the Dragon Flats borough, one of Republic City's poorer and triad-dominated areas. In this position, they tried their best at helping any local in need, providing access and connections to food, shelter, medicine, and even friends.[1] Over time, Xin rose to an acting representative of the borough's inhabitants when dealing with the administration, the triads, major companies, and even Avatar Korra.[1][2] Xin built a working relationship with various powerful individuals, including Jargala Omo, leader of the Creeping Crystal Triad.[2]

Around the mid-170s AG, Xin noticed growing tensions between the Creeping Crystals and the Terra Triad over control of territory in the Dragon Flats. Upon investigating, the community organizer realized that a third party was seemingly conspiring to cause a turf war. Wanting to prevent such an all-out conflict, as it could cause great harm to the Dragon Flats' inhabitants, Xin contacted both the Creeping Crystal Triad as well as the Terra Triad. However, the criminals refused to believe the community organizer's intel. Xin subsequently sought out others who could help them prevent the turf war.[2]

Personality

Xin was a generally supportive and empathic person, and looked out to aid the often disadvantaged people of the Dragon Flats. When having to take sides, they generally opt to help those more vulnerable. When helping "the little guy", Xin had few qualms as to with whom they had to make deals with; accordingly, they were equally willing to work with the Avatar as with the triads.[2]
