Personal life

MacDonald attended Duke University, North Carolina, from 2008 to 2012, graduating with a major in International Comparative Studies and minors in French, History, and English. During her studies, she worked as an intern at Trone Advertising in May 2008 and in the office of US Senator Kay Hagan in mid-2010, and later as a screenplay reader in the summer of 2011.[2]

Career

After graduating, MacDonald worked as a production assistant on the ABC show Melissa and Joey in 2013 before going to work as a research aid on the first season of Sleepy Hollow later that year. In 2014, she began working as an assistant to Sleepy Hollow showrunner Mark Goffman and later joined the writers room for seasons three and four, writing one episode in 2017. MacDonald was named the 2017 Fox Writers Lab Fellow, winning out against twelve other writers, and received a script development deal with Fox Broadcasting Company.[3] In 2018, she joined Netflix as a story editor, writing two episodes of October Faction in 2020 and one episode of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe in 2021.
