As herbivores, deer foxes traditionally graze in the forests of the island.[1]

The deer fox has the body, tail, and head of a fox, but the legs and antlers of deer.[2]
Behavior
As herbivores, deer foxes traditionally graze in the forests of the island.[1][3] Known to be elusive and "capricious" creatures, they generally avoid human contact.[3] However, groups of deer foxes often gather at Deer-fox Glade, making it the best place to secretly observe them.[3]

Trivia
- According to founding legends, the first human settlers encountered a "great, scintillant deer-fox spirit" when landing on Jasmine Island. The spirit reportedly conveyed the "three great truths" to the settlers, greatly influencing their culture; it then disappeared and was never seen again.[4]
