Guri was the son of Constable Sung, born shortly before the end of the Hundred Year War. He was taken from his home by intruders in 102 AG during a period in which the Fire Nation Capital experienced a high number of child abductions thought to have been orchestrated by dark spirits.[1]

History

Guri was born in the Fire Nation Capital in 98 AG and was the first child of Sung and his wife.[1]

After his kidnapping, Guri was comforted by Lihua.

Four years later, two assailants broke into Guri's room in the middle of the night and took him. Despite his parents' efforts, the intruders managed to escape with him and subsequently brought him to an underground facility where the other missing children were held. Later, Guri awoke with a slight headache and began to ask his mother a question before realizing that he was no longer in his house, much to his dismay. Alarmed, he began to cry and ask for his mother until he was comforted by a young girl named Lihua, who assured him that his parents would arrive soon, considering how Tom-Tom's father arrived earlier.[1]

Guri was getting used to being imprisoned when Kiyi was brought in. When they heard a noise at the door, he started to argue with Tom-Tom before Kiyi told them to stop. After she successfully melted a hole in the door with her newly discovered firebending, he asked her to marry him, though she declined. He was later reunited with his parents.[2]
