Kahola was a child of the only family of Southern Water Tribe waterbenders known to raid the seas during the era of Aang.[1]

History

Kahola was born to a Southern Water Tribe mother, Gayu, who had abandoned the tribe because she was shunned for a romantic fling with a Fire Nation soldier. As she was not one to let fate decide her destiny, Gayu set sail and became a prosperous pirate with the only Southern waterbender pirate raiding the seas.

Gayu began to push her son, Kahola, to take his rightful place as leader. However, the bright young waterbender was not sure if he wanted to embrace a life of piracy. He wanted to know if there was something more out for him other than raiding and stealing from others to make a living.

He decided to strike out on his own, but Gayu's protΓ©gΓ©e, Honu, pledged to follow and protect Kahola. Kahola was intending to find a pirate called Duga, who he heard was a merchant as well as a pirate, and wanted to see if he could give Kahola some advice.[1]

Personality

Kahola was unsure whether a life of raiding and stealing was right for him. He was otherwise a bright young man, who could be both perky and arrogant.[1]

Abilities

A skilled waterbender, Kahola's fighting style often involved using jets of binding water.[1]
