Siku was a member of Jasmine Island's protectors during the late Hundred Year War. A powerful waterbender, he helped to defend the island's people from the Fire Nation military during "The Devastation".
History
Siku was born on the independent Jasmine Island during the last stages of the Hundred Year War. His family was descended from refugees who had fled the Southern Water Tribe at the conflict's start. They had relocated to Jasmine Island, which had remained formally neutral and thus became a haven for displaced people. Siku's family gradually integrated into Jasmine Island's community over decades and managed to achieve a peaceful as well as happy existence.[1][2]
As he grew up, it became clear that Siku was a bending prodigy. By his late youth, he increasingly felt that Jasmine Island's safety stifled his development and potential. Seeking to find a place to hone his skills, he joined the local protectors.[1] During the period of his service among the protectors, Jasmine Island itself came under attack. A strong Fire Nation force led by Admiral Yueya invaded the small state, launching a murderous campaign later dubbed "The Devastation". After the initial surprise attacks led by Captain Zhao, Siku rallied around a veteran protector named Akataa and tried to fight off the invaders.[2] Together with Akataa, Aiko, Basalt, and Fu Meili,[2][3] Siku later encountered Fire Nation soldiers led by Captain Lu Ten, who actually opposed Yueya's rampage. The protectors allied with Lu Ten,[4][5] and together worked out a plan to stop Yueya.[4][6] This culminated in a battle where Siku and his friends defeated the admiral, helping to save their home.[4][7]
Personality
Siku was confident in his power, stubborn and resolute. He sought ways to further improve his skills, considering the safe environment of his family and home too restrictive. Siku's dream was to leave Jasmine Island and to learn from great waterbending masters across the world.[1]
Abilities
Siku was a true waterbending prodigy, being exceptionally powerful and skilled, with only his lack of a proper master holding him back. He usually fought with several water streams or whips simultaneously, using four water satchels for this purpose.[1]
